Most solar problems are electrical problems. A failed inverter, a tripped ground fault, a dead optimiser, a bad connection at the combiner — these are faults a licensed electrical contractor diagnoses every day. Sperry Electric LLC troubleshoots and repairs existing solar systems across Northern New Jersey. We do not sell solar contracts, and we are not trying to put a new array on your roof.

That distinction matters, because the companies that sold and installed most of the systems in this state are built to close new contracts, not to send a technician to a five-year-old array that has quietly stopped producing.

If your installer is gone

A large number of residential solar companies that sold systems in New Jersey over the last decade are no longer trading, or no longer service what they sold. That leaves homeowners with equipment on the roof, a monitoring app that has gone quiet, and nobody answering the phone.

You do not need the original installer to get a system working again. A licensed electrical contractor can diagnose the fault, source the replacement component, and bring the system back online. We are glad to take on systems we did not install.

Frequently Asked Questions

• Do you service a system you did not install? Yes. Most of the solar work we do is on systems installed by somebody else, including companies that are no longer in business.
• Do you sell solar systems? No. We are a licensed electrical contractor. We troubleshoot, repair and maintain solar that is already on the roof.
• My production dropped but the system is still on. Is that worth a service call? Usually yes. A single failed optimiser or microinverter can pull down output while the system still appears to be running.
• Can you replace an inverter? Yes, including sourcing a replacement where the original model is no longer available.
• Can you take the panels off for a roof replacement? Yes. We remove, store and reinstall the array, then confirm the system is producing again afterwards.
• Is my monitoring supposed to work? Yes. If the app has gone dark, the system may still be producing or may have been down for months. Either way it is worth checking.
